Procurement at Leger Education Trust 

Introduction 

The Trust is responsible for £6 million per annum on non-pay spend for the procurement of Goods, Services and Works. The aim of procurement is to achieve value for money across all schools.  

We provide specialist support to all schools within the Leger Education Trust group in all tasks related to buying supplies and services using a variety of contractual arrangements ranging from locally placed orders to large complex collaborative contracts.  

Procurement Process 

Today's economic climate demands businesses to operate in a sustainable manner with a culture of continuous improvement. This is no different for Leger Education Trust who are constantly seeking to make the most prudent and effective use of its resources. 

The Governments’ current drive towards higher efficiency combined with annual constraints on public finance has brought new dimensions to the use of resource management. We are seeking innovative solutions which provide greater value for money. 

Opportunities 

The Trusts Scheme of Delegation Policy outlines the following thresholds: 

  • £5,001 to £25,000 - Minimum of 3 quotations required, with the use of DfE approved framework recommended (where available)
  • £25,001 to £200,000 - Use of DfE approved framework or formal tender process (with option to include local providers) including appropriate advertising of opportunity
  • Over £200,000 - Use of DfE approved framework/fully Public Contracts Regulations complaint tender process.

All contracts over the value of £200,000 will be advertised via our website, or via pre-procured public sector frameworks.
