David is Chair of Members at Leger Education Trust and has supported the Trust for a number of years, he was originally a governor of Campsmount and has seen Campsmount’s journey from being a school, to a SAT to a MAT and beyond! He also has experience in recruitment and staff monitoring for schools and has specific skills in assessing risk and reviewing health and safety process. Additionally, is engaged in community policing with the South Yorkshire Police, being a retired Police Officer.
Anton has specific knowledge of education standards and regulatory requirements. He has worked as the History teacher and Director of Boarding at King William’s College, Isle of Man from 1993 to 2009, as the Deputy Headmaster and History teacher at Rossall School from 2009 to 2014 and has been the Head of Ackworth School since 2014. In each of these schools, he was ensuring compliance with regulations and helped improving the quality of education provision.
Jo is an employee of the DfE, previously she was CEO of partners in learning, Regional Engagement Lead at Sheffield Hallam University and a policy manager at Sheffield City Region Combined Authority. She has been a trustee for a multi academy trust in Sheffield since July 2018, and prior to this a school governor since June 2016. She has been a trustee for two different CIOs and therefore brings a range of education, policy and strategy, programme management experience.
Fiona has worked at the Department for Education since 2016, where she has led policy and delivery teams advising the Education Secretary and ministers on a variety of matters relating to the schools and the academies system, early years and further education. She brings knowledge and experience of school governance, programme and risk management and how the academy system is managed across the country.
Chris was a CIMA qualified accountant and finance and business manager for Highways England in Major Projects, North Division before he retired. He was also the Head of Financial Services for Lincoln University from 2006 to 2007, where he was responsible for all financial aspects of the university. He has held senior management roles for over 25 years. He is experienced in managing and reporting HR, leading staff and performance management, and developing the implementation of business and financial planning.
Nicola has 7 years experience of working in a medium-sized secondary school and has been an Executive Leader of a medium-sized Trust since 2014. Nicola has vast experience of Trust strategic planning, growth planning, risk management and audit, compliance, marketing, school leadership and business and operations. Nicola brings knowledge and experience to Leger Education Trust and joined as a Trustee in 2023.
Rachel brings a wealth of experience from her current role as Leadership Development Strategic Lead at Learners First School Partnership, and her previous role as Executive Principal at Maltby Learning Trust. Rachel is a self-reflective, driven and committed professional who offers alternative perspectives through challenge and support, and believes that Trustees uphold a great duty of care, prudence and compliance to ensure that the Trust delivers truly great students in truly great schools.
Marc has over 30 years’ experience in Investment & Retail Banking covering Operations & Technology with assignments in London, Europe, India, South Africa & Hong Kong. For the last 10 years. Marc has been providing his Project services under contract with a number of major financial institutions including RBS, Barclays, HSBC & more recently Bank of New York Mellon. He has extensive people management skills & a proven track record in building cohesive, motivated teams.
Tony is the joint managing director of Optima International limited and he takes overall responsibility in technical sales. Highly qualified as a managing director, he has significant experience in the private sector and specific skills in finance, health and safety, sales and HR. He also has 15 years’ experience of being an Infant School governor of which the last 8 years as Chair.
Alison Dwight brings a wealth of experience. She has 30 years admin experience in various organisations from both the public and private sectors. Alison previously worked as Attendance Manager in a Trust and, as attendance is a key focus across all schools in Doncaster, will be able to challenge and support in this area. Alison is currently working as a casework for the Shadow Home Secretary and dealing with local constituents who need help with a range of issues from Local Council/Health Service /National Policy issues that require Ministerial input.
Bev is a passionate advocate of children and young people with understanding of the education system. In her role as Skills Development Manager at the Education and Skills Funding Agency, Bev brings 25 years experience in the education and skills sector to improve education and employment in Doncaster and South Yorkshire, and is well placed to offer support and challenge to ensure the Trust offers the best educational experience to students.
Richard is currently the Head of Sustainability at the City of Doncaster Council and joins Leger Education Trust as a Trustee after collaborating with the Trust on their sustainability and environmental goals. Richard is passionate about the climate and environment and is the strategic leader in achieving the city’s net-zero ambitions of 85% reduction in C02 by 2030, working across domestic and non-domestic retrofit, renewable energy, zero emissions transport, developing Doncaster’s green economy; and restoration and protection of the natural environment.
Bridget has been a Charity Manager at Spectrum People since February 2015. Previous roles included the Operations Manager at South Yorkshire Centre for Inclusive Living, where she led operational management of disabled user-led persons organisation, Associate Director for Business Planning and Continuity at the NHS where she created services to support vulnerable people across all ages. In each of these position she led the improvement of the organisations’ standards.
Adam has extensive experience of managing the Trust. He successfully led the application for the establishment of Leger Education Trust (LET) into a Sponsor Multi Academy Trust. Upon commencement of the Trust he became CEO and he currently leads the significant strategic development of the LET including the lead in growth of the Trust and school partnerships. He also has numerous positions on boards and organisations across Doncaster and beyond, including chair of DASH (Doncaster Association of Secondary Heads), the OA Board and other strategic partners. Prior to becoming CEO he was Principal of Campsmount Academy leading the school through significant change and improvement, moving from Requires Improvement to Good in all areas in 2016, having spent 20 years in Headteacher and leadership roles in the London area.
Rebecca is the Executive Director of Operations for Leger Education Trust. She is an experienced and skilled leader, developing ‘operational excellence for educational excellence’: ensuring that operations are led effectively, allowing educational leaders to focus on school improvement.
She is responsible for the strategic leadership of operations, which includes staffing and HR, training and CPD, and performance management; Estates management including capital projects, health and safety, and premises management; development of commercial services for the trust – Leger IT, Leger Catering, Leger Estates, and Leger Sports; policies, governance, and acts as data protection lead for the trust. Working with the Executive Director of Finance, she ensures robust financial planning and monitoring including budgeting, best value reviews, tenders and procurement, contracts and SLAs.
She has managed all operational aspects of running Academies across all age ranges during her 12 years in education. In her previous role she provided management and commercial leadership to the operational teams at English Heritage as Visitor Operations Manager for South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire for 7 years.
Andrew is an experienced financial professional having qualified as an accountant with CIMA in 2009. He manages the finance function of the Trust, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting is delivered effectively and efficiently. He is also responsible for providing strategic financial advice to the CEO, Directors, Headteachers and School Business Managers. Prior to joining Leger Education Trust, he was Managing Director of Schools Plus, a leading school lettings operator having previously worked in senior finance roles within the financial services sector.
Ruth is currently Director of School Improvement for the Trust. She was previously Associate Principal at Campsmount Academy, where she led Teaching and Learning, CPD, Behaviour and Attitudes, and Quality Assurance. She was also an Advanced Skills Teacher in Science and Associate member of SLT for 5 years at Hall Cross Academy. She has completed NPQSL and NPQH, illustrating her wide leadership skills and capability to drive academies strategic priorities. She is experienced in leading schools’ self-evaluation strategy, ensuring target setting, and improving teaching methods.
Yvonne is currently Director of School Improvement for the Trust. Prior to this, Yvonne was Principal at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy. Yvonne also has experience of improving standards in her previous role as the Vice Principal at Netherwood Academy in Wombwell, Barnsley, where she was instrumental in merging two very challenging schools together and had responsibility for curriculum, timetabling, intervention, standards and achievement. Yvonne has also held a number of leadership roles including Assistant Principal with responsibility for assessment and data across all key stages.
Lesley supports the CEO, Executive team and schools with a focus on communications, compliance and governance. Lesley has worked in education for eight years and has a strong background in administrative and finance roles. Lesley previously worked for Firstdirect for 21 years and was a Schools Service Volunteer with Childline, working in primary schools across the Wakefield area.
Rachael supports the Trust team and schools across our Trust. She has recently completed her apprenticeship in Business Administration with a distinction. Rachael previously worked as the Admin Assistant at Vega College and in her new role she is a Wellbeing Champion for the Trust.
Rebecca Rowett is an educational consultant who assists the Trust regarding Primary Headteacher Performance Management & school improvement across the Trust.
Caroline Embery is the SEND & Inclusion Manager for the Trust. Caroline had sixteen years experience working within SEND and Inclusion across a variety of settings, including higher education, secondary school, and the full range of primary. Caroline has a wealth of knowledge about SEND & Inclusion and takes pride in regularly attending networks, training and staying up to date with legislation, national strategies, initiatives and research associated with SEND and our local environments.
Hannah Cuddy is the Trust Associate Lead for Primary Maths.
Drew Sherrat is the Associate Leader for Secondary Maths.
Sophie Moreton is the Associate Leader for Secondary English.
Jo Potts began her senior leadership journey in 2011 when she took on the role of Deputy Head at a large primary school in Doncaster, and became the Headteacher of Barnburgh Academy in September 2016.
Jo has proven experience of curriculum design, alongside an understanding of current issues relating to this. She is passionate about ensuring that children have access to a broad, balanced, inclusive and creative curriculum.
Jo has a proven track record in raising pupil attainment and progress across the whole school and leading effective school improvement, including the review/analysis of key indicators such as pupil outcomes data, planning and implementing sustained change at whole school level
Stacey Speedie is the Trust Associate Lead for Safeguarding.
Jordanna Proctor is the Trust Associate Leader for Inclusion.
